I begin with a disclaimer: I don't watch "The View." Honestly. My mother records it with TiVo, and sometimes I'm in the room when she's watching it. Seriously.
Anyway, whenever I hear someone tell me (and this happens fairly frequently) that, if women ruled the world in place of our present testosterone-laden rulers, "everything would be better," I hear The Who whispering in my ear: Meet the new boss, Bill. She's the same as the old boss.
You see, it was "The View"--Barbara Walters' soul-killing morning talk show, hosted by BarbWa and three of her favorite females--that convinced me. There's no difference whatsoever between a man and a woman...
...especially if that woman is an obese lesbian suffering from a severe case of permanent "foot-in-mouth" disease. Enter: Rosie O'Donnell.
Rosie will be making an early exit from the cast of "The View," after her recent on-air spat with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The two were fighting over Rosie's ridiculous comments (namely, the ones implying that US troops are terrorists and that Osama is just misunderstood). Throw in Geraldo Rivera's faux-concern for the health of Hasselbeck's unborn child, Rosie's own permanent lesbian victimhood complex, a bevy of angry fans, and two uninvolved cohosts as helpless as deer in headlights, and you have an affair so messy that even Bill O'Reilly would have trouble sensationalizing it.
And the lesson? Women can be catty, insensitive, politically stupid, mean, cruel, and angry. They can act without thinking, and make total fools of themselves. Just like men.
I suppose the most important lesson, though, is that I should stop watching "The View."
