An unnamed source has given me a report from the speech-making portion of the rally today, and apparently the GW Patriot was the source of great excitement. The "racist Patriot" was the source of some of the day's most fervent rallying cries, and their reasons were as follows:
* They claimed the Stop the Nonsense article written by your humble servant was racist. I'm not entirely sure that their claim went further than just saying it was racist, and I am a racist. Of course, I am not a racist, but what's the use, they've made up their minds already anyway...
* They claimed that our questions about whether the $10,000 spent for Black History Month by the BSU was too much money (it was the largest cosponsorship given to any student organization for the year) and whether it was spent correctly on a cruise for BSU members were our attempts at questioning "what are those blacks doing with the money."
* Finally and most ludicrous was the claim that the mistake made by a couple of our writers over the last name of Charles Basler (or is it Basden?) was a purposeful disrespect of a great man on campus.
On a side note, Hunter brought up that Michael Tapscott was in attendance, a virtual endorsement by the GW administration of the event being held. It has been confirmed by my source that he was in attendance during all of the slanderous comments directed at the Patriot, and that Tim Miller, Director of the Student Activities Center, was also in attendance for a portion of the comments. It is disturbing that important officials in the University administration feel comfortable sitting idly by while one group of students attacks and slanders a registered and fully recognized student org. I assume nothing will be said or done in response to the comments, but I am hopefully in the process of obtaining a video of the event so that we can see the event and the comments for ourselves.
The Patriot has been an essential part of the political discourse on campus, especially this semester and especially in regards to the intimidation and race-baiting tactics of some campus leaders. We will continue to enhance the conversation by supplying an alternative to the politically correct, multicultural lallation that is spewed by the multicultural community.

I give up.
Can it be that these organizations only want to respond to what you stuck up kids are saying. They don't have a GW sponsored blog, where you can just sit down and right whatever the fuck you want, on any subject, like your Glenn Beck.
If you where half the man Glenn Beck was, well you would still be a douche bag.
By righting like a smart ass you making the situation worse, but of course thats what you want, because you need something to right about.
~the G-Dub truth
writing, jesus, clearly not as smart as you.
Truth:
1)truthfully, you can not spell. Now, I'm not sure if it was a pun that you were trying to make by spelling w-r-i-t-e, r-i-g-h-t, but it just makes you look ignorant.
2) Speaking of ignorance, in regards to the "GW sponsored blog" comment, we are only affiliated with the university in as much as we share the letters G & W. We receive $0 of SA funding, and wouldn't and don't plan on asking for a cent from the university. So nice try.
3) you need to get a little more original in your insults, you used the phrase "douche bag" in two different comments are two different posts. One is inclined to call you "Douche bag" just because you've used the phrase so often.
I think the underlying point that Pat, Hunter, and others are trying to make the point that on this campus (and for black "leaders" like Al Sharpton), whenever anything bad happens to a black person, there is a knee-jerk reaction to characterize that episode as racist, and there is a failure to step back, analyze situations, and determine truth.
OG and Richard Fowler have been especially guilty of this lack of reasonable thought. That does not mean that everything they have felt was racist was not, but it means that the methods they use to make conclusions are fatally flawed.
This problem is amplified by the fact that when other individuals on campus analyze their behavior and their thought processes, they also realize it is ridiculous, and criticize them for it. This criticism, through the same broken process, is labeled as racist.
There is almost nothing a reasonable person can do to convince a zealot. Unfortunately, black "leaders" on our campus have chosen the Sharpton model of race-baiting whenever anything with the slightest chance of being racist happens in order to get attention. Also, black students on our campus have not called out their "leaders" and demanded that they be represented better.
Even worse, those black students who chose to participate in student government at large (OG, Fowler, Eugene Beckley, even Lamar) made mockeries of themselves, and by attaching the "racism" label to the criticism of their embarrassing performances as student leaders, further alienated themselves from reasonable students.
Non-black students at GW are constantly on the defensive because there doesn't seem to be a way to promote reasonable discourse on race relations on this campus and anybody who dares criticize a person who is a minority is automatically labeled a racist. It seems that in the opinion of black student "leaders", you either believe racism is rampant, or you are a racist. This is no healthy way to become educated about diversity. Our country has a disgusting past littered with racism, but it does not mean that the actions of today are automatically racist.
I hope that after this current flock of black "leaders" on campus graduates that a new group can emerge that is dedicated to useful discourse and that can engage other minority and majority communities so that diversity on our campus is something that brings people together rather than tears them apart.
By your logic, wouldn't we just go away if you ignored us? If we are just a bunch of stuck up kids, why respond?
P.S. If by "GW sponsored blog" you mean a completely independent blog that has the letters "G" and "W" in consecutive order, than yes we are sponsored by GW.
...thanks for the echo pat.
Hunter beat me to the punch.
In other news, I believe I am close to discovering the true identity of Wayne Brady. Regardless, he is exactly right (not write) about our intentions and how unfair the response is to our words.
All of the deleted comments were profane and inappropriate spam. Someone (I am in the process of tracing the IP address) felt the need to post childish and immature remarks about several Patriot writers and about some prominent SA members. I will notify everyone when i discover who it was.
Glenn Beck? Really?? REALLY???
I think we deserve at least to be compared to, oh, Sean Hannity.
I was thinking more along the lines of Lou Dobbs.
I just want to know how is "Stop the Nonsense" not racist? You talk about how we all have freedom of speech...but you deleted people's comments for saying what they feel. Isn't that denying us of our rights? Do you really have to trace an IP address? Are you really that dull and boring that you have nothing else to do with your time than trace IP addresses because somebody hurt your feelings.
Oh, boo-hoo. The way I see it, you aren't a member of the BSU..so who are you to tell people who are members what they are doing is right or wrong? Who are you to tell OG that his campaign was stupid? Your a guy behind a computer screen. But I bet that if I see you face to face you won't talk all of that smack.
When someone actually stands up to you you'll shut up. But as long as you hide behind a computer, you think you are safe. Oh sweetie, karma will come back on you ten fold.
Stop the Nonsense criticized one black student on campus... is that racist? Are black people free from critique by whites?
Also, deleting comments calling people "fags" is not stopping free speech... it's keeping the blog free of excessive profanities.
You say I hide behind a computer, but you simply post as "Anonymous" while I put my name behind my words... who's the real coward?
